The neck-and-neck race between essay cheating websites and anti-cheating programs continues, and US organisation Turnitin is hard at work on a new offering.
Cassandra O'Sullivan Sachar has found that the time she's spent in class going over Turnitin has paid off in terms of the quality of papers she's received from students.
The university administration has purchased a software, 'Turnitin', at a cost of Rs 7.61 lakh per year and has appointed A S Chakravarthy, Assistant Professor, as Coordinator, Anti-Plagiarism Software.
Each time a research scholar submits a soft copy to the supervisor concerned, he is expected to run the software and issue a system-generated report to be forwarded to the Coordinator.
Please note that campus has decided to use SafeAssign, which is a component of Blackboard, to replace Turnitin by fall 2018. From more information please see SafeAssign tutorials. Turnitin will be removed from the library website on Aug 15, 2018. Please plan accordingly.
